Lack of sleep gives you a very interesting perspective. With the wedding and all my system has been turned almost completely upside down. I had very little awareness of the passage of time. All that I had last weekend was 7:00 am. My body knew what that was and got me up, when I went to bed or how much I slept.
So coming home from Santa Barbara/Santa Ynez on Monday, both Kel and I were completely exhausted. We had to make a couple of stops on the way home so we didn’t get to Walnut Creek until about 10:00 pm. We had to be at SFO at 6 am the next day for our flight to Zihuatenejo. We decided, perhaps against better judgement, to stay up most of the night and make sure we were at the airport with plenty of time to spare.
We called Ryan Edge and luckily he was available to help us unload the truck. The three of us hung out for a short while and ate some wedding cake, then Kel and I hammered through the rest of the packing. I was able to get an hour or two of sleep on the floor next to the front door before we had to split.
Tuesday consisted of traveling all day long. Traveling exhausted is not fun at all. I don’t recommend it. But at least we were able to get to our destination that much sooner. As many of you know this trip is also a bit of a pilgramage for me, as The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite movie.
We're looking forward to getting out and seeing everything.
More later,
